Resettlement support for 6 people arriving in El Paso
Help a family of 4 start their new life in El Paso: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.
🇺🇸 United States1,728 views
My family left Iraq 6 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in El Paso. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in January.
I was an electrician in Iraq, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,900
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $800
• Language classes and bus passes: $350
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
