Resettlement support for 6 people arriving in Augusta
The Rahimi family are rebuilding in Augusta after leaving Iraq; your gift pays for housing basics.

My family left Iraq 5 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Augusta. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in January.
I was a mechanic in Iraq, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by a local church-run settlement group, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $4,000 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,400
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,050
• Language classes and bus passes: $260
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $290
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

praying for you, Paula. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Cartagena this morning. Blessings
Sending good thoughts, Paula. Your post was clear and honest. I hope January is when things finally get easier.
so sorry you're going through this, Paula. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'll check back for the next update. Take care
