Resettlement support for 5 people arriving in Nairobi
The Petrenko family are rebuilding in Nairobi after leaving Ethiopia; your gift pays for housing basics.

My family left Ethiopia 9 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Nairobi. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in August.
I was an electrician in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by a local church-run settlement group, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $700 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $370
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $120
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $85
• Language classes and bus passes: $105
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $20
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kioko
Sure. The biggest one is rent deposit and first month, $370. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
