Resettlement support for 4 people arriving in Madrid
The Yusuf family are rebuilding in Madrid after leaving the Democratic Republic of Congo; your gift pays for housing basics.

My family left the Democratic Republic of Congo 13 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Madrid. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in September.
I was a farmer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Madrid Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $320
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,550
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $130
With deep gratitude,
Mónica

Sending love. Your post was clear and honest. Sent it to 9 people at work. Thinking of Madrid.
Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Madrid.
so sorry you're going through this, Mónica. This could happen to any of us. My husband and I read this together. God bless.
