René received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
After a delayed insurance payout, René is 4 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

When the textile factory closed in August, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,450.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $1,600
• Late fees and court costs: $120
• Utilities in arrears: $110
• First month of rent as a buffer: $620

Thinking of you, René. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Augsburg.
Thanks for sharing this, René. I hope things turn around soon!
