Renate was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Dresden Community Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Dresden Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Renate struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Renate won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
