Renate received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Renate needs $2,550 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Freiburg.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 3 weeks, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $1,550
• First month of rent as a buffer: $860
• Utilities in arrears: $140
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Wishing you peace. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
