Renata received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A delayed insurance payout left Renata short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

When the construction firm closed in March, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,050.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by May, we must leave.
I have a teenager still in school at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $750
• Late fees and court costs: $95
• Utilities in arrears: $45
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
Thanks for being kind about this.

This could happen to any of us. After 18 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Nîmes.
sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
