The wildfire damaged 20 homes in the families of Millbrook Lane. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The wildfire hit the families of Millbrook Lane on 10 May. My home was one of 20 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $5,100 goes: • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,200 • Roofing sheets and timber: $2,950 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $540 • Clean water and purification supplies: $410 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Manila.

Hope it all works out, Saeed. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out.
