Rebuilding after the tornado: the Hillcrest neighborhood needs your help
Neighbors in the Hillcrest neighborhood are rebuilding after the tornado; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The tornado hit the Hillcrest neighborhood on 18 July. My home was one of 54 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $5,850 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $450
• Tools and labor for repairs: $850
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,550
I hope life is good to you.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Minneapolis.
Thank you. If you're in Minneapolis I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. I'll keep the page updated.
Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
How is Hye-jin doing now?
praying for you. More neighborhoods should do this. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.
Sending love, Hye-jin. Shared it with a few friends. Take care
