The tornado hit the families of Orchard Lane on 25 December. My home was one of 16 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $8,900 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $3,100 • Clean water and purification supplies: $410 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,050 • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,900 • Tools and labor for repairs: $2,440 If you're reading this, thank you.

  • You're not alone, Sharon. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Mumbai so I could bring a meal. Take care!

    • Great idea, hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.

      • praying for you, Sharon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out.
