Rebuilding after the storm: the Old Town settlement needs your help
The storm damaged 53 homes in the Old Town settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The storm hit the Old Town settlement on 24 August. My home was one of 53 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $8,000 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,700
• Clean water and purification supplies: $760
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,100
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,250
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,190

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Hans
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. roofing sheets and timber is the biggest at $3,700.
