Rebuilding after the landslide: the Eastgate neighborhood needs your help
After the landslide, families in the Eastgate neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇰🇪 Kenya140 views
The landslide hit the Eastgate neighborhood on 4 December. My home was one of 54 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $550 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $200
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $90
• Food parcels for displaced families: $260
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope things get better soon, Mary. Hope this works out for you. Take care.
Praying for you, Mary. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Wishing you the best, Mary. Your post was clear and honest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money
sending love, Mary. Great idea, hope you get there. God bless.
Keep going, Mary. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Austin
