Rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block: the Greenfield settlement needs your help
The house fire that spread across the block damaged 84 homes in the Greenfield settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Greenfield settlement on 8 September. My home was one of 84 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $5,950 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,250
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,850
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,850
With deep gratitude,
Tanvi

Good luck, Tanvi. More neighborhoods should do this. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
Praying for you. More neighborhoods should do this. Wish I lived closer to Prayagraj so I could bring a meal
