Rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block: the Northside district needs your help
The house fire that spread across the block damaged 19 homes in the Northside district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Northside district on 14 February. My home was one of 19 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $900 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $100
• Roofing sheets and timber: $680
• Clean water and purification supplies: $120
If you're reading this, thank you.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Kano!
Thank you. If you're in Kano I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
take care, Zubby. Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Juiz de Fora.
