The house fire that spread across the block damaged 66 homes in Hillcrest village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The house fire that spread across the block hit Hillcrest village on 7 May. My home was one of 66 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $270
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,100
• Food parcels for displaced families: $480
Thanks for reading all this.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Camila!
It's all in the list in the story. tools and labor for repairs is the big one at $270, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
Hope things get better soon, Camila. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. All the best.
so sorry you're going through this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
