The flood damaged 26 homes in the Sunrise settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Sunrise settlement on 3 September. My home was one of 26 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $800 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $450 • Tools and labor for repairs: $170 • Food parcels for displaced families: $95 • Clean water and purification supplies: $85 Thank you for reading my story. - Dương

Updates from Dương

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($109 in total) I made the first payment toward roofing sheets and timber. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Update from Hồ Chí Minh City: the plan for food parcels for displaced families is now scheduled. We're at 20% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 46% funded and the plan for food parcels for displaced families is now scheduled.
