Rebuilding after the flood: the Sunrise neighborhood needs your help
Neighbors in the Sunrise neighborhood are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The flood hit the Sunrise neighborhood on 10 September. My home was one of 47 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $950 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $190
• Roofing sheets and timber: $470
• Food parcels for displaced families: $290

Sure. The biggest one is bedding, blankets and mattresses, $190. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for asking.
