Rebuilding after the flash flood: the Riverside settlement needs your help
The flash flood damaged 37 homes in the Riverside settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flash flood hit the Riverside settlement on 26 September. My home was one of 37 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $7,350 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,050
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,650
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,450
• Tools and labor for repairs: $2,200

Quick update: $2,377 raised so far (32%). the plan for roofing sheets and timber is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Small update. $2,002 so far, I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
