The fire in the settlement hit Eastgate village on 20 May. My home was one of 70 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters. Where the $800 goes: • Clean water and purification supplies: $65 • Roofing sheets and timber: $620 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $115 Every share and every dollar helps.

Take care. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Warangal.

Thank you. If you're in Butwal I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.

Rooting for you, Indira. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Kinondoni!
