Rebuilding after the erosion collapse: the Marketplace settlement needs your help
The erosion collapse damaged 72 homes in the Marketplace settlement. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The erosion collapse hit the Marketplace settlement on 18 February. My home was one of 72 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $320
• Clean water and purification supplies: $85
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $190
• Food parcels for displaced families: $180
• Tools and labor for repairs: $275
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Shared this with my family. My neighbor in The Hague donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
Wishing you peace, Michael. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
praying for you, Michael. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Lagos.
Sending strength, Michael. More neighborhoods should do this. My husband and I read this together. Love from Kingston.
