Rebuilding after the earthquake: the Lakeview settlement needs your help
Neighbors in the Lakeview settlement are rebuilding after the earthquake; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, PakistanPosted Oct 1, 20261,667 views
The earthquake hit the Lakeview settlement on 9 September. My home was one of 20 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $850 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $480
• Food parcels for displaced families: $130
• Tools and labor for repairs: $240
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

you're not alone, Junaid. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 29 people at work.
