Rebuilding after the drought: the Harbor district needs your help
After the drought, families in the Harbor district need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The drought hit the Harbor district on 24 August. My home was one of 80 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $620
• Clean water and purification supplies: $130
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $105
• Food parcels for displaced families: $175
• Tools and labor for repairs: $120
Thank you so much.

Hang in there. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Thinking of Jimma
Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless
keep going, Konjit. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update. All the best.
