I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Iași Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,150.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $2,050
• Delivery and set-up: $35
• Fitting and training sessions: $65
