Raymond was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at the Laredo Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Raymond is 44, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Laredo Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $5,700 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $300 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,550 • Transport to the Laredo Oncology Institute: $850 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
