For twelve years I have run a phone repair counter in Salem. In August, a break-in took a soldering station and testing tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,950 goes:
• Replacing a soldering station and testing tools: $2,700
• Initial stock: replacement parts: $550
• Shop repairs and licensing: $230
• Working capital for the first month: $470
Thank you for reading my story.
Updates from Raymond
Small update. $503 so far, I made the first payment toward working capital for the first month.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($448 in total) I made the first payment toward replacing a soldering station and testing tools. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Rooting for you, Raymond. Hope you make a strong comeback. Wish I lived closer to London so I could bring a meal. Greetings from New Delhi.

rooting for you. Hope the shop reopens soon. Wish I lived closer to Houston so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Kadıköy.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Raymond.
Replacing a soldering station and testing tools is $2,700 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Happy to explain more.
keep going, Raymond. It takes guts to ask. Well done. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care!
hang in there. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Keep going, Raymond. Hope this works out for you. I'll check back for the next update.
Sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
