I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Sydney Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,100. My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $6,100 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $185 • powered wheelchair: $5,750 • Fitting and training sessions: $165 Glad we found this place.
