Raúl's multiple myeloma treatment fund

Raúl is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Raúl was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at the Bogotá Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Raúl is 58, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Bogotá Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,750 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,850 • Scans and lab work: $240 • Transport to the Bogotá Oncology Institute: $210 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $155 • Household costs while unable to work: $295 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Ana
