Rashid needs a cutting table and overlocker to reopen a sewing studio
Rashid has run a sewing studio for fifteen years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $300 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a sewing studio in Lahore. In August, a long illness and repossession took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $300 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $180
• Initial stock: fabric: $35
• Shop repairs and licensing: $55
• Working capital for the first month: $30
Thank you so much.
Updates from Rashid
Good news. Because of your gifts ($66 in total) I made the first payment toward shop repairs and licensing. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Thanks for sharing this, Rashid. This could happen to any of us. Sent it to 30 people at work.
Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
