In July I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Cluj-Napoca University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 31, I worked as a cleaner at a hospital until July, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Cluj-Napoca University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,000 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $490 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $220 • Transport to Cluj-Napoca University Hospital: $290 Thanks for being kind about this. - Ramona
