Rahul's a partial thyroidectomy can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a herniated spinal disc, Rahul was cleared for a partial thyroidectomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In June I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at New Delhi Community Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for August. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $860, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $600 short.
Doctors at New Delhi Community Hospital told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $860 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $600 goes:
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $370
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
• Post-operative medication: $25
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $100
• Physiotherapy sessions: $80
Thank you for reading my story.

best of luck. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Greetings from Mumbai.
Sending strength, Rahul. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
