Rafael lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Seville Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,250.
His current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Rafael could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.

• Fitting and training sessions: $270
• Delivery and set-up: $85
• First-year servicing plan: $145
