The house fire that spread across the block hit the Orchard district on 1 October. My home was one of 76 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $950 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $115
• Tools and labor for repairs: $125
• Roofing sheets and timber: $540
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $170
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Good luck. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Giza.
Sending good thoughts. Shared it with a few friends. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings
Sending love, Nazia. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Greetings from Tema
