Pratik's school year: uniform, books and a laptop
Pratik won a place at the Mumbai Selective School but the family can't afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Grade 9 at the Mumbai Selective School, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the biology course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $150, which is more than we have.
I love biology and want to become a doctor. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $150 goes:
• Laptop: $90
• School uniform and shoes: $20
• Textbooks and workbooks: $30
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $10
I hope life is good to you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Pratik!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. laptop comes first ($90) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
Stay strong, Pratik. Hope this works out for you.
