The Maple wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 53 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 57 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $350 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $170 • Tools and protective gear: $80 • Waste removal and skip hire: $70 • Signage and educational materials: $30 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

    • sending strength, Collins. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from San Francisco.

      • Thinking of you and your family, Collins. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

        • Good luck. Great idea, hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Tiruchirappalli so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Mombasa.
