Dwarka
Liberty Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 119 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 92 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $300 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $200 • Signage and educational materials: $25 • Waste removal and skip hire: $75 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Deepa

  1. Quick update: $45 raised so far (15%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Small update. $50 so far, the plan for waste removal and skip hire is now scheduled.

    • Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Bandung

      • Good luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Siliguri so I could bring a meal. Take care

Sending good thoughts, Deepa. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 26 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless
