Plant 4,900 native trees around the Freedom canal in Saket
Help us clean and replant the Freedom canal before the December planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world1,058 views
The Freedom canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 50 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 196 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $140
• Tools and protective gear: $70
• Waste removal and skip hire: $140
Every share and every dollar helps.

Shared it with a few friends. After 18 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Fort Portal
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Saket.
