Plant 4,850 native trees around Freedom Creek in Warsaw
Volunteers are restoring Freedom Creek in Warsaw; $750 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇵🇱 Warsaw, Masovia, Poland974 views
Freedom Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 33 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 166 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $750 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $90
• Native saplings and stakes: $410
• Waste removal and skip hire: $250
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Small update. $47 so far, I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts.
Update from Warsaw: the plan for native saplings and stakes is now scheduled. We're at 4% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Praying for you, Justyna. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings
