Plant 4,400 native trees around Maple Creek in Bengaluru
Help us clean and replant Maple Creek before the July planting window closes.
🇮🇳 India1,168 views
Maple Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 95 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 139 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $300 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $155
• Tools and protective gear: $50
• Waste removal and skip hire: $70
• Signage and educational materials: $25

Keep going. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Saint Petersburg
