Plant 4,350 native trees around Sycamore Beach in Lahore
A neighborhood-led restoration of Sycamore Beach needs $300 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world973 views
Sycamore Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 92 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 157 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $300 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $95
• Tools and protective gear: $65
• Waste removal and skip hire: $100
• Signage and educational materials: $40
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thank you all. We're at 28% now ($85). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts.
