Plant 4,150 native trees around Maple Beach in Nashik
Volunteers are restoring Maple Beach in Nashik; $450 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
Anywhere in the world850 views
Maple Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 64 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 109 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $260
• Tools and protective gear: $70
• Waste removal and skip hire: $85
• Signage and educational materials: $35
Thanks for being kind about this.

How is Suresh doing now?
More neighborhoods should do this. I'll check back for the next update. Blessings.
Rooting for you, Suresh. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Casablanca donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
