Plant 4,100 native trees around the Cedar riverbank in Feira de Santana
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Cedar riverbank needs $300 for saplings and equipment.
🇧🇷 Bahia, Brazil250 views
The Cedar riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 58 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 143 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $300 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $85
• Waste removal and skip hire: $130
• Tools and protective gear: $85
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

hope things get better soon. Great idea, hope you get there. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
Good luck, Ronaldo. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I hope November is when things finally get easier
so sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
So sorry you're going through this. More neighborhoods should do this!
best of luck, Ronaldo. Great idea, hope you get there. After 22 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Dar es Salaam.
