Plant 4,100 native trees around Jacaranda Beach in Feira de Santana
Help us clean and replant Jacaranda Beach before the September planting window closes.
🇧🇷 Brazil1,368 views
Jacaranda Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 78 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 110 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $700 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $180
• Native saplings and stakes: $380
• Waste removal and skip hire: $140
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Raimundo
Sending strength, Raimundo. More neighborhoods should do this.
Thinking of you and your family, Raimundo. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
Best of luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in East London this morning. Blessings
