Plant 4,000 native trees around the Union hillside in Pune
Volunteers are restoring the Union hillside in Pune; $250 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Union hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 99 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 105 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $250 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $85
• Tools and protective gear: $100
• Native saplings and stakes: $65
Every share and every dollar helps.

Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Pune.
You're not alone. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Hamburg.
