Plant 3,900 native trees around Maple Creek in Saint-Étienne
Volunteers are restoring Maple Creek in Saint-Étienne; $2,050 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇫🇷 Saint-Étienne, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France1,939 views
Maple Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 32 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 186 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,150
• Tools and protective gear: $380
• Waste removal and skip hire: $310
• Signage and educational materials: $210
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Take care. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless
This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless!
Best of luck, Maxime. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't give up. Take care.
