Plant 3,750 native trees around Cedar Beach in Charlotte
A neighborhood-led restoration of Cedar Beach needs $2,700 for saplings and equipment.
🇺🇸 Charlotte, North Carolina, United States1,237 views
Cedar Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 32 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 171 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $600
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,750
• Tools and protective gear: $350
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Việt.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. waste removal and skip hire is the biggest at $600. Ask me anything else.
Stay strong. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
Sending strength. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't give up. Thinking of Charlotte.
Sending love. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
