Lotus Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This January, 60 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 135 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $200 goes: • Tools and protective gear: $110 • Signage and educational materials: $30 • Waste removal and skip hire: $60 Thanks for being kind about this. - Nitin

Updates from Nitin

  1. Small update. $115 so far, the plan for signage and educational materials is now scheduled.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($115 in total) I made the first payment toward tools and protective gear. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Small update. $40 so far, I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. - Nitin
