Plant 3,200 native trees around the Freedom wetland in Nottingham
Help us clean and replant the Freedom wetland before the September planting window closes.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom2,456 views
The Freedom wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 47 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 105 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,450
• Tools and protective gear: $460
• Waste removal and skip hire: $640
• Signage and educational materials: $150
Glad we found this place.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't give up. Blessings
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Sent it to 21 people at work. Thinking of Nottingham.
I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Los Angeles.
