Plant 3,100 native trees around the Maple canal in Newcastle
Volunteers are restoring the Maple canal in Newcastle; $1,500 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Maple canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 59 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 101 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $700
• Tools and protective gear: $230
• Waste removal and skip hire: $310
• Signage and educational materials: $260
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Coimbatore.
wishing you the best. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We're a small family in Jakarta Selatan but we're thinking of you. Blessings
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Please keep us posted. Thinking of Newcastle.
