Plant 3,100 native trees around Cedar Beach in Nuremberg
Volunteers are restoring Cedar Beach in Nuremberg; $2,000 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
Anywhere in the world1,324 views
Cedar Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 70 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 138 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $730
• Tools and protective gear: $340
• Waste removal and skip hire: $720
• Signage and educational materials: $210
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Manfred
Sending strength. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Arusha
